Of course a Trekkershut is nothing without a real hike. The rural routes and trails are perfect for making a trek along the Trekkershutten.


Rural routes (LF-routes)

LF-routes are mainly routes that connect town and rural areas in an attractive way. It is mainly based on cycle paths and quiet safe back roads. Together, these pathways are an extensive network (over 6000 km). Ideal for designing your perfect vacation route, especially in combination with Trekkershutten. All routes are shown in two basic guides with brief descriptions and country-wide maps. A number of pathways are marked in separate route maps and guides with information on the history, scenery, sights and practical tips. The LF and other cycling routes are shown on a map that is updated every two years. The map is available at all offices and the ANWB most tourist offices. The map shows the locations indicated Trekkershutten.













The long-distance hiking trails (LAW) are mostly unpaved roads. The unique thing about these trails is that besides regular walking, the trails also pass docks, dikes, mow and tow paths and many other unusual paths. There are now 35 trails with a total length of about 6000 km. Using a walking guide and marking along the path everyone can walk on their own LAW. The hiking guide includes information about landscape, nature, transport and accommodation en route. Examples are
